The next morning wasn’t as embarrassing as Beth thought it would be. She came out of her room to the smell of coffee and breakfast. The breakfast—eggs, bacon, and toast—was welcome but the coffee had her dubious.

Rick chuckled. “It’s not a setup. Go ahead and drink it.”

“You sure?”

“It counts as one of your two for the day. Any after that and punishments will be involved. Punishments like no spankings.”

Beth weighed her need for coffee, which wasn’t that much of a need after the sound sleep she’d had last night, against her need for Rick to spank her. She pushed the coffee away. “I’ll pass…for now. I might need it later.”

“Up to you. Here’s breakfast. Nothing fancy.”

“It doesn’t have to be. Thanks.” She took the plate to the small dining room table where they ate in silence. Beth wasn’t sure what to say or if she should say anything. This moment was very domestic. She thought she should feel uncomfortable but didn’t because of the situation seeming so right.

Before she could get too caught up in the moment, she polished off her food and pushed away from the table. “I’ll see you at work.”

“Yes, you will.” Rick gathered up the plates and carried them back to the kitchen.

Lacking anything else to say, Beth grabbed her overnight bag and headed for the door. She would stop by home after work for another change of clothes, but only after she stopped by the sports store to pick up a few more exercise outfits like her one from last night, which was drenched.

She opened the door and jerked back before she ran into the woman standing there. “Sorry.”

The woman ran her gaze up and down Beth in an assessing manner. “She was right. He let the bitch stay over.”

Beth gave a short intake of breath but recovered quickly enough to bite out, “Bitch? Fuck you. Who the hell are you to call me a bitch?”

“I’m Rick’s wife.”
